Zohran Mamdani won a shocking upset over Governor Andrew Cuomo to secure the Democratic Nomination in the New York City Mayor race. In the general election, Mamdani faces an unusually crowded field in the general election – Republican Curtis Sliwa, and three independents: sitting Mayor Eric Adams, antitrust lawyer Jim Walden, and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
We are tracing the latest polling for the race in our NYC Mayor polling average. We give more weight to polls that are recent, that have a large sample size, and that are from pollsters with a strong track record. We correct for pollsters’ historic bias. Internal Polls released by a campaign or their allies are also corrected for bias, and have less weight in the polling average.
